This is another fauxpan. I liked this photo, but there was something about those wide expanses of white (Pan F is contrasty…) that just didn’t work. Reframed 65×24 I find it so much more powerful…
*Goblin Haunting*

This shot is probably my earliest street photography win, and it was done on a manual film camera. I started film so I could join the printing club in my local time (I needed negatives to learn printing) and so I purchased a cheap but renowned film camera for beginners and went about shooting. This was one of my earliest prints and cemented my love for Ilford Pan F. Why « Goblin Haunting » ? Look at the shape of the shadow…

The Church of the Trinité near St Lazare is one of my favourite Parisian monuments. I always felt it had a little bit of a moghul palace look, something Indian in the spire. Parts of it have been covered in wraps for years now, but this photo was taken in my early days of film photography in 2012, when it was still visible.

Spotmatic F + Ilford Pan F
My first film camera was a Spotmatic F that I purchased for a pittance on ebay. Because it had an M mount, I was spoilt for choices of lenses, and probably this was shot on a 50mm, but I couldn’t tell you which, now. It’s one of my earliest film shots, and it depicts a slew of posters calling for French left-wing protests against European policy, An odd reminder that what is happening in France today has its roots from older times (well, 2012 in this instance…)
